Yukun Chan

Yukun Chan is a Los Angeles–based cinematographer, an American Film Institute Conservatory Fellow, and an alumnus of the ASC Master Class. His recent work includes iiná, a feature documentary shortlisted for the Docs by the Sea Showcase at Cannes Docs 2025.

With four years of experience across both camera and lighting departments, Chan has developed a strong technical foundation alongside a distinctive visual sensibility. Drawing from both nonfiction observation and narrative storytelling, he is drawn to imagery that is emotionally precise, intimate, and alive—balancing the unpredictability of real life with deliberate cinematic form.

His visual practice began in New York through years of street photography, where he cultivated a sensitivity to natural light, layered environments, and unguarded human behavior.
